Very tired...

How's that for a blog heading? But I am soo tired and it is making me very snappy and I can't stand squeaky voices anymore! And how can the house be this messy when we were gone all day yesterday and all morning have been at church?! Did you ever feel like this Mommy? Surely not, as we were perfect children!

I'm tired because on Friday night we stayed up until about 1 am working on the bathroom. Here are some pics. It might not look like much, but that represents a lot of work. Just taking out the old floor took hours and some blood(literally), sweat and, well, no tears, yet. You will be surprised at how different the beadboard will look when we get the trim and baseboard on it! We are going to try to put that on Monday night. And, obviously, the beadboard will go all the way around the other walls, too.

It still looks pretty bad, but give it a few more weeks and it will look a lot better!

Another reason I am so tired is that we went down to SLC yesterday and back and then I had to go to Wal-Mart at like 12:30, so I didn't get to bed until 2 am and had a meeting at 7:30.

Our trip to Salt Lake was pretty fast and not much to tell. I got the rest of the bookcases for the family room! Yahoo! I can't wait! On our way home we were running late so we got Famous Dave's To Go and thought we would eat it at home. But halfway home Alex started saying, "I'm very hungry at breakfast," and pointing to the food, which was his way of saying he was hungry. And boy was he! We didn't have any utensils in the car, so we used a straw we had to feed him and Alaina potato salad, mac and cheese, potatoes and corn muffins. But Alex's favorite part was the meat! I have to say, we have been checking out barbeque a lot lately, and Famous Dave's is one of the best! Second only to Smok'd, and that's in Chicago! Their sides were all sooo good and the meat was soo tasty! It was funny trying to feed them with a straw and Alex couldn't figure out how to get the meat off the ribs, so I would pull bites off and give them to him and Alaina. I felt just like a mommy bird. But Alex really liked it and ate a lot. We really liked it, too! It was a very odd thing to be eating in the car, barbeque, but my, oh my, it was tasty!

On the way home we picked up Tristan from Mommy's house where he had spent the day with Grandma and Grandpa! He was curled up in their bed watching a movie and looked very comfy and spoiled! He said he had lots of fun and went to the store with them and played with Leto a lot.

One of the funniest things was on the drive home. At Ikea we had bought a sheep hand puppet and I talked to Tristan with it on the ride home and he loved it! I asked him all kinds of questions and it was so funny to hear his answers. A few key ones- The names of Mommy's kitties are Pet and Jasmine, and they are very nice and don't scratch him. He told the sheep that Daddy makes cocoa and fires, and when asked what Mommy does, he said, "Makes cookies for us to eat!"

"What else does she do?"

"She takes the cookies out and we eat them." Sounds like a Norman Rockwell childhood! When the sheep asked him what Daddy does at work, he said, "He steals money so we can stay at home." You know, steal, earn, it's all the same. And when he was asked what Alex does at school he thought very seriously for a few moments and then said, "He bothers the kids!" "And what will you do when you go to school?" "I will get lost." Wow, no wonder he's excited to go to school! You can get lost and bothered by Alex! He said lots of other funny stuff, but I can't remember it all.

I will try to put more pictures of the bathroom on as we get more done. I hope you don't mind! At least then I don't have to try and explain it to you! To end, here are some pictures of Alaina. She loves the potty and always wants all of her clothes off when she sits on it. She has never gone pee in it, but she did go on the floor next to the potty once! When she sits on it she says, "Peepee poopoo caca!" How sweet! Bye for now! I am going to go take a nap, so that maybe I will be nicer when I wake up. At least that is my excuse.

Tristans answers are hilarious! Especially the one about what daddy does at work. Did you get all the puppets? At Hobby Lobby I got a set of 4 puppets for the kids to sew together with yarn. I think there is a queen and king, but I'm not sure. I know one of them has felt earrings.
The beadboard and floor already help the bathroom sooo much! I want to come visit and see it all in real life. And you need to come visit and we can take a quick "little" drive to see Hobby Lobby. I already know you will LOVE it and I want to be there when you see it. Plus we can get cookies for real cheap on the way through Richmond.
This week is spring break and I am dying to just load up in the car and go to the redwood forests!!! I have always wanted to go, and I think Aiden would think it is the coolest place, especially since they filmed a Star Wars movie there. But instead we are sitting here at home all week long, probably cleaning out the garage or something boring and productive like that. The forest sounds so much more fun. :)
Lainey needs to show Audrey just how cool it is to be an a potty. She's getting better, but I don't know if she'll ever be trained.

Your bathroom is going to look so nice! I already know the magic you guys can pull off, so I feel confident in my prediction. :)
We really enjoyed Tristan's visit, and loved giving him attention or peace and quiet or whatever he was in the mood for. He was quite the ensconced ruler, wasn't he? He was right in the middle of the pillows on our queen-sized bed, with his sippy cup and the bubble gum balls. He's such a good age to ask questions. You should ask him what Grandma and Grandpa Doc do with their time. That might be an eye-opener!
Lainey looks so happy on her potty seat. That always makes it easier later on.
Hope you get some rest, and thanks for the progress pictures!

Oh, and to answer your question, yes. I did feel that way - in the car. You girls had the squeakiest, highest voices in the world!!! I was so glad when we got the tape for Saturday's Warriors and you just listened to the music. And, also, My Turn on Earth. Those tapes saved my sanity!
And thank you for asking. :)

Haha, I'm so sorry but this is hilarious to me how crazy your life is! I don't think I could ever live if I went to bed at 2:30 and woke up for a meeting at 7:00. No way! Your bathroom looks so much better already. I can't believe it's the same bathroom! And I loved all of Tristan's answers. He's at the perfect age where he says really funny (and sometimes true) things, and he's brutally honest which makes it even funnier. When he was over at my house last week, he asked me where all my toys were. I said, "Oh, I'm sorry, I don't really have any cool little kid toys yet," and he said, "Awwww, but I like toys so much..." I felt kind of bad for not having toys then. :) Anyways, get some rest, and don't worry, Rome wasn't built in a day and you really can't do everything all at once or you will go crazy! :)
