They always say that God answers our prayers through others. But sometimes it's not even an answer to a direct prayer, it's just an answer to our desire to know God is watching over us.
Today I was the recipient of a random act of kindness and it touched me so much. It meant so much more than just the act, it was that feeling that someone else out there cares for you and what happens to you. Sometimes, I think through Heavenly Father, our actions can mean so much more to someone than what it simply was. I cried.
It just feels so good to be reminded that we are loved and watched over, by Heavenly Father and by others who love us as well.
And so, out into the void, I will send my thank you to my someone. I hope you know how much it means, and I hope I can return the favor someday or make someone else feel the same way. Thank you.
P.S. I am always thinking my kids don't have enough clothes. And then I find out they have tons of clothes. I just needed to do the laundry.
And did I tell you that a few weeks ago as I got ready for the day, I decided to wear my silver hoop earrings. Well, it wasn't until late that evening that Danny pointed out to me that, while I was indeed wearing two silver hoop earrings, they were completely and absolutely different sizes. Hehehe.. maybe I will start something new.

I hope you know how happy it makes US each time you post something like this! It is so fun to read, and now I am dying to know what the random kindness was! I agree that sometimes it is just so wonderful to know that someone is caring. I remember when Aiden was a baby and you guys had moved away and I felt so lonely. Like no one cared. Then someone from the ward stopped by to bring our baby a sweater she had made. It was SO unexpected (Aiden was about 6 or 7 months old) and delivered at the perfect time when I was feeling by my self. That was a hard time because I had been working and then did stuff with you. So when you moved away then i didn't have any friends. And Brooks worked all afternoon and evening. I bet that lady has no idea that I still remember the day she brought us a sweater!
You should go shopping in your laundry area. Maybe save your Target tags and retag them on the clothes down there. Then, when you want to go shopping without the kids, just put them in their naps and go downstairs! I can guarantee it will be the cheapest shopping trip you'll ever have and you'll get to get all kinds of clothes that you forgot about!
And I LOVE the earring story. You gotta watch those pregnant ladies. they're always trying to start new trends.
I so understand what an act of human kindness can mean when you need it. Just simple things can touch us, deep within our souls. That person must've been inspired; God bless her! She also answered a mother's prayer for her grown daughters and sons.
Your experience refreshes my soul, too.
Thank you.
Hi! It's Haley, but for some reason it won't let me sign in so I have to say 'anonymous' again,so that it doesn't delete my whole comment. Sheesh!
Sometimes we forget that there are always people out there who care about you and love you. Sometimes it's so good to be reminded. I remember when Hunter was just a week old, and I was having a terrible emotional day (cried all morning, all afternoon, and most of the evening), and we went somewhere and when we came back there was a card from a girl in my ward on our door. The card said congratulations and she knew I'd be a great mom and if I ever needed anything to call. I don't think she even remembers dropping off that card, but it meant SO much to me, and it still does. Sigh... Oh, and that is hilarious about your earrings! I remember another time (I'm in a storytelling mood) when Tara and I were walking to school and she looked over at me and started laughing really hard, and it turns out I only had one earring in! Haha! And remember when Dallin came home from work and told me I was wearing TWO watches on the SAME wrist?! Ha! That was when I was preggo, and that's my excuse. :)
Heavenly Father sure does have interesting ways of doing things. But it IS so nice to see and understand that one of the main ways he does help us and comfort us is through others. Why else would we be here surrounded by people, especially those that we consider close friends and family? He is constantly showing us his love for us, just in random, small ways. Yay for heavenly love!
And P.S... I love that you put you cried. Because whatever it was that happened to you, probably would have made me cry too. We women. . just emotional basket cases!
